Mysterious Package – Louis

Ding, Dong! The bell rattled around the room like a gong thrashing against the howling wind. Standing, My swelling eyes stared at the fluorescent light as my back started to slouch. Twisting the door nob- one time to the left and two to the right- the door opened slowly, steadily. Glancing, my eyes followed the package and he put it onto the smug coloured carpet.

“Could you please sign this?” The man asked politely. He handed the sheet over; the pen slid across the page like skating across an ice rink.

Picking it up, it was heavier than I expected!

100 word challenge – Heavy fishing – Arthur

Buzzing with excitement, I hopped into the old, weathered motor boat, fishing rod in hand. With hopes high, I pulled the choke. The growling rumble set me in paradise. Skimming across sky-blue, icy water, I would be at Crab Cove in minutes, then drive to the warm lagoon to collect supplies.

Recklessly, I threw the  tarp behind a towering rock, whipped off my torn shirt and rode out. I tossed the line into glassy water, cut the motor and waited

The scorching sun inflamed my back. Something caught the line and yanked me in – it was heavier than I expected!

100 Word Challenge- Drowning – By Jess

“I promise.”

The lie was heavier than I had expected, tugging down on my shoulders like a suit of useless, unprotective armour; this was bad!

What was I thinking, saying I could look after Kaleb on my own!

It felt as if grey angry waters smashed upon the stormy sea, crashing down upon my head. A sudden cold, a flurry of bubbles and black- eternal black. Drowning me.

“Amaya!” Granny Uma yelled, forever impatient,

“Amaya, I haven’t got all day!”

I had to do it.

“It’ll be fine!” Another lie.

A fake smile plastered itself onto my face.

“Lock the door.”

100 Word Challenge – Frozen in time – By Jess

There it stood, frozen in time- gazing at an ever-lost star heartless, broken. It was wrinkled all over like the Moon- the man on the Moon! Staring aimlessly up as if searching for it’s own kind, it’s long lost bretherin…

Some considered it an eyesore blocking up the sky, others a marvel, a gift from their past generations. But why is it there and what does it mean, will we ever know or is it just not meant to be?

All the confusion, the mindblowing thoughts the research, the time, is it all a lost cause?

Aha, I’ve got it!

Take off. Arthur

O2 arena.                                                                                                                                                         1863

The crowds sat tensely, heart in mouth, breath caught in throat. Lights blared down on to the magnificent creation. Monsieur Delichi Cruttos, sat pompously in the royal plateau, smugly glaring down on his masterpiece. Spotlights blared onto the button shaped podium.  Approaching from the bold, metal door, the pilot, cloaked in exquisite clothes, marched across the platform.

Climbing into the compact cab, he viciously yanked the choke – nothing. Trying again, the engine rumbled like thunder. The crowd flinched as the grumble echoed through the stadium. His sinuous arms pulled back the steer stick, when it just wouldn’t start.

Take off – Louis

Sitting in a large, dense aeroplane, I was eager for the flight to Africa. Looking out of the glass window, the trees swayed viciously with the whistley wind. Finally, all of the passengers had boarded the plane. The immense tyres clamped onto the the dull vehicle. The wheels started to move fiercely along the long track. Faster, faster, faster the plane went accelerating up the road like a dog snapping at your heels.

FIVE! FOUR! THREE! TWO! ONE! Tension suddenly seeped into me. When it just wouldn’t take off. A hot stream of transparent tears leaked from my red eyes.

Take off!

Once I was in a competition at an air show and I will tell you about it. So I was at this place where I  needed to drive an aeroplane but I didn’t want to do it because I was scared. My mum said I needed to do it but I refused to. It was a time for take off. so I got into my aeroplane an the judge counted down 54321… take off! but there was conclusion. the aeroplane didn’t take off. I tried again. Then it worked so I went and then I won 1st place.

Cosmic By Jess

The Sky was blue and clear, rainclouds were nowhere near.

There was a glint in my eye, I was ready to die if it meant I was going cosmic.

It was time to take of, I was going to Mars I would see the stars!

But when it just wouldn’t take off, my dreams were crushed but I’ll never stop!

Thunderclouds surrounded the empty stage, all was lost and lightning popped, but I guess I’ll never go cosmic…

Hanging my head, booms filled the air, this was just stupid!

Why’d I think I could do it?

I’ll never go cosmic.

Take Off Willow

Rumbling. Engines. Fire:  the take off was imminent. Wind rustled,  grass blew, trees swayed. shards of colour lit up the sky. Excitement etched on their faces: crowds gathered  waiting with bated breathe: this was the time of the launch. Without doubt, this was the moment, history would be made.

The difficult mission was becoming impossible and long airy jumps of happiness was now disappointment. This invention was meticulously made but nevertheless the rumbling ceased, the engines died and the fire went out. Tears of sadness blurred the useless rocket, silence filled the dark sea of people. This machine was now hopeless.Image result for sunset

The sapphire bird. By Tiana

Night falls pitch black, over the horizon where emerald grass sways in the blissful breeze. Moonlight lit up the darkness and turned it to an essence of glowing light. Flowing rippled water, collides with the soft tawny sand.

Walking to the waters edge sea foam splattered  my legs completely. Hearing a bang, I thought. “what was that!”  I  must be playing tricks on myself. Hearing it again. Another gun shot. Looking up, grey flustery smoke dragged its self down to the ground. CRASH! Fire spilled through the entire plane. A  sapphire bird lay cold, still. It just wouldn’t take off.
